Bible Study

Winter 2010 OSLM Bible Studies

Starting on January 3, our lineup of adult Bible classes offers you an exciting menu of options for personal growth and for doing life. Each class starts at 10:30 and ends at 11:30 on Sunday mornings.

I & II Peter — The Apostle Peter wrote these letters to the church when he knew his time to be with our Lord was near. In I Peter, he wrote of Christian living and how to deal with circumstances of the world. II Peter speaks to Christian living and faith; teaching and practices within the church. Led by Nancy Mueller, we will look into the messages of Peter's letters and discuss what they mean for us on our faith journey here on earth. This class will meet in Room 203.

Assurance of Salvation — Every Christian can truly experience an inner consciousness and confidence that a right relationship exists between our soul and God. With that confidence, we are better able to fully and consistently be of service to God. Our starting points for this study, led by Jim Nunley, will include I Timothy 4:16 and Philippians 2:12. This class will meet in the Fireside Room.

Rough Edges of the Christian Life — Life as a Christian does not free us from the challenges of this fallen world. Fear, anxieties, selfishness, and disobedience wait to grab hold of us and detour our walk with Christ. As Christians, we have the privilege of our Father’s guidance and the direction of His Holy Spirit. Led by Otto Hottendorf in Room 205, this eight-week interactive study will examine some of the ways the world challenges our hearts, and the remedies provided in God’s Holy Word.

The following class will begin on January 10:

Bible Basic Seminar, which is an interactive discussion of the main teaching of Scripture, will begin soon. This seminar will be lead by Pastor Phil, and will include other facilitators, as well. This is a great unit for anyone considering membership at Our Savior, or someone who is curious about what we believe, or even someone who wants to “refresh” their memory. This class will be held for eight sessions on Sundays: January 10 through February 28 in the Conference Room from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Please RSVP to the church office, 447-1246, if you are interested in attending.
